This work is framed in an American black box chosen by the artist. "Monolithes 1.4" is part of Maxence Doré's "Monolithes" series: "During several trips into space I took the time to recover asteroids in order to sculpt them. A way to mark my passage and indirectly send a message. Through these massive asteroid blocks of large or small dimensions I would like to highlight the silence, this little known sensation of man, known as a relatively noisy species. Carved into geometrical shapes and put back into complete darkness, these monoliths leave a part of me in the unknown, in the calm, anxious to discover again and again and to be guided by infinite chance."

Maxence Doré is part of a pictorial style of an ecologist movement. Influenced by the movement "In which life you are" (2005-2010), he quickly had a strong ecological awareness.
In a treaty-aesthetics framework, he hopes to change the minds thanks to the beautiful. With a successful and technically complex work, he invites the viewer to position itself in the light of pollution due to oil, and mineral mining.
Positioning himself as an alert launcher, the artist must, according to him, invite the viewer to interrogate themselves. Force them to see what they refuse to see. Inspired by Huysmans rhetoric (1848-1907) where beauty is quintessential, Maxence Dorée uses this axis to deliver his message.
