Description

Very rare print by Shepard Fairey aka Obey entitled "Yes we did". It was created to celebrate the victory of President Barack Obama in 2008.

These offset prints mark the historic victory of Barack Obama, they were designed by the American artist Shepard Fairey in collaboration with Moveon.org. "Yes we did" comes after his famous "Hope", which was Barack Obama's campaign poster.

5000 prints were printed in offset on cream Speckletone paper from the French Paper Company under the direct supervision of the artist. Each print was numbered by hand, from 1 to 5000. The first 1000 of the series are signed by Shepard Fairey. This print is numbered "984/1000", so it was signed by Obey himself.

Dimensions with frame: 97,7 x 64 cm and dimensions without frame: 91,4 x 61 cm. This work is sold in a black frame.

Bio

Shepard Fairey, known as Obey, was born on February 15, 1970 in Charleston in the United States.

From an early age, he has been passionate about drawing. He is also passionate about skateboarding. At the age of 14, he drew images for t-shirts and skateboards.

Obey is very influenced by Andy Warhol and Alexander Rodchenko. At the end of the 80s, he invented the famous Obey symbol thanks to a poster campaign with a bunch of friends.

His art became world famous thanks to his Hope poster which became Barack Obama's campaign poster in 2008. The artist is now considered one of the pillars of international street art.
