Description

This abstract composition, with almost fantastical undertones, stands at the boundary between imagination and emotion.

The viewer’s eye is first drawn to a series of free-flowing, vibrant forms, whose interpretation is intentionally left open. Each observer is invited to project their own images, emotions, or memories onto the work, making it a deeply personal and intimate visual experience.

Created during the lockdown period, Stillborn draws its inspiration from the rural environment in which the artist was then confined. This immersion in nature is reflected through the organic rhythms, fluid lines, and vivid palette that bring the composition to life.

The work is hand-signed by the artist on the reverse.

Bio

Nathanaël Koffi is a painter and visual artist whose practice unfolds across a variety of media. He repurposes forgotten objects, transforming them to elevate and re-enchant the world around him. The intuitive impulse that drives his work is balanced by the precision and discipline inherent in his use of color and in the execution of each piece.

Working within a highly abstract approach, he explores variations in color and pattern, seeking out tonal harmonies, forms, textures, and materiality.

He works freely, without sketches or prior preparation. His compositions emerge spontaneously, created in the immediacy of the moment.

"Freedom in my work reflects the freedom of my mind, which I translate into my creations. The viewer is free to interpret the work in their own way, according to their own frame of reference. The perception of the artwork belongs to them. It is an exchange: I create with spontaneity, and the audience is invited to experience it with the same sense of freedom."
