"Station To Station (Icon Collage)" is a work created in 2016 by Shepard Fairey (OBEY). It combines silkscreen and mixed media collage on paper, featuring a layered composition of printed fragments, textures, typography and graphic motifs.
This example is an HPM (Hand-Painted Multiple), meaning it has been individually enhanced by hand, giving each work its own distinctive character. It is also designated AP (Artist Proof), an artist's proof particularly sought after by collectors.
The work is signed and dated "16" in pencil in the lower right and bears the "AP HPM" inscription in pencil in the lower left. It is framed under glass.
Dimensions: 98 × 76 cm unframed; 100 × 78 cm framed.
With its large format, richly layered composition, mixed-media technique and Artist Proof HPM status, this work brings together several of the qualities most sought after by Shepard Fairey collectors. It also features André the Giant, the founding and most iconic figure of the OBEY universe, further enhancing its significance within the artist's body of work from the 2010s.
