Description

André Saraiva, Love Tripping – Red Edition (2022)

With "Love Tripping", André Saraiva revisits the psychedelic imagery and countercultural spirit of the 1960s. The work takes the form of an archival pigment print on perforated blotter paper, directly evoking the famous LSD sheets associated with the libertarian and experimental energy of the artistic and musical scenes of the era, particularly during the legendary Woodstock festival.

The composition features Mr. A, the iconic character created by the artist in the 1990s and now one of the most recognizable signatures in international street art. Presented here in vivid red against a white background, the graphic motif unfolds across a perforated grid reminiscent of psychedelic blotter sheets, creating a visual language that is at once pop, ironic, and provocative.

Through this playful appropriation of both object and symbol, Saraiva explores the boundaries between underground culture, urban art, and popular iconography, while continuing to develop a visual vocabulary that is instantly recognizable.
