In this pared-down piece, Claude Jebeli explores the fragile tension that inhabits matter. A nearly immaculate surface, suspended in silence, is brutally interrupted by a dark, uneven line—a scar tearing through space.
The artist turns imperfection into a language. Fractures, abrasions, subtle elevations in the paint—each alteration becomes a living trace, a memory engraved on the canvas. The work speaks of time leaving its mark, of wear shaping the surface, of a force that endures beneath it all.
Balancing between abstraction and Art Informel, Jebeli sculpts emptiness and fracture, searching for a fragile equilibrium between minimalist rigor and the raw emotional weight of matter.
