Bio
Alexandre Monteiro aka Hopare is an emerging artist in the French street-art scene. He was born in 1989 in Paris, he is influenced by urban architecture and human whirlwind. He spent his childhood in Limours, in the department of Essonne, and discovered graffiti at the age of 13 or 14 in an old disused factory in the city.
A former student of Shaka (known as Marcel Mithouard, street artist and visual artist), a close and determining relationship was born. At only 20 years old, he works for an interior designer who, according to him, "influenced my way of drawing, with more and more straight, parallel or intertwined lines". The artist contributes to major projects of interior design, decoration or styling in textiles.
He signed his first wall in 2006 and joined the TSF Crew (a large-scale street art movement with joint projects and festivals). Accompanied by spray cans, brushes, inks or paint rollers, Hopare celebrates aestheticism and beauty. His lines, bordering on perfection, sketch geometric and abstract curves. His works have a pencil character with intense straight lines.
"What I am looking for is the sharpest line, the perfect diamond" Hopare
Hopare can also be freer in his practice, indeed, he does not forbid himself the "freestyle" where improvisation guides his gestures. His spontaneity and the randomness of his art lead to the construction of figurative elements of great virtuosity.
Many artistic projects are added to his urban art. For example, the mayor of the city of Limours awarded him his first realization with the signage of the new auditorium. He even organized his first exhibition, which had a strong impact: 30 paintings were exhibited and 23 sold. Hopare, eternal wanderer from Montreal to Paris, passing by Hong Kong, these megalopolises keep the trace of his passage, the artist wants in his turn "to offer to the spectator the possibility to travel".
