Renaud Auguste Dormeuil was born in 1968 in Neuilly-sur-Seine. He is a contemporary French artist renowned for his unique and innovative approach to visual art. For more than two decades, Dormeuil has explored themes of memory, time and perception through installations, photographs and captivating performances.

Renaud Auguste Dormeuil studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he developed an acute sensitivity to the concepts of temporality and illusion. Influenced by artists such as Christian Boltanski and On Kawara, Dormeuil quickly forged his own path, integrating elements of science, technology and astronomy into his work.

Renaud Auguste Dormeuil is best known for his emblematic project I Will Keep a Light Burning, a series of performances in which he recreates the starry sky as it will appear in 100 years' time. The work questions our relationship with the future and collective memory.

Dormeuil also made his mark with the installation Blackout, which explores the vulnerability of our modern communications systems. By plunging entire cities into symbolic darkness, the artist invites the public to reflect on the fragility and interdependence of our contemporary society.
