"We are increasingly invaded by signage, and urban spaces are full of basic, one-sided messages that are certainly useful, but at the very least silly. What I'd like, however, is for the unilateral nature of the message to be replaced by the idea of reversibility, for a new meaning to be added to the first, guiding other levels of reading." Bio

Clet Abraham is an Italian artist born in 1966. He studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Rennes and now lives and works in Florence, Italy, where he has set up his artist's studio.

Clet hijacks road signs to create original works in vivid colors, always imbued with a certain humorous touch. His artistic work is based on a critique of cold signage, incorporating a more human dimension to signs symbolizing rules and order. It was in Florence that Clet Abraham put his first hijackings into practice, cutting out stickers before applying them to signs in the streets of the Italian city.

Today, his work can be seen on the streets of major European capitals such as Paris, Rome, London, Turin, Milan and Barcelona.
