Bio

Did Dontzoff was born in Paris in 1956, he is of Russian origin and descends from a line of artists.

From 1973 to 1985, he practiced contemporary dance all over the world, then in 1985 he turned to painting.

Full of a culture of graffiti, the characters that haunt his imagination are on the alert. His travels, like music, have a primordial influence on the creation of these beings who are at the same time frozen but who seem to live a perpetual metamorphosis on the canvas.

Each of his characters is like a living organism that calls you and feeds off the presence of the spectator in order to weave a relationship of complementarity. Through a painting full of exuberant energy, Did Dontzoff speaks to us of the stupidity, violence, beauty, hatred, love, seriousness, humour, logic and absurdity that surround our daily lives. It is a painting that is free from all hindrances, an art free from the dryness of current codes.
