Description

Painted reused plastics, ceramics and textiles on MDF with printed vinyl.

Special edition, signed and numbered to 90, made using a technique developed by Bordalo II to mechanically reproduce in 3D an edition that reflects the plasticity of his work. The work is made from an original work that has been dismantled, copied and reproduced in DM, vinyl, ceramic, fabric, machine-cut plastic from discarded recycling containers, and painted. Each copy has been assembled by hand and therefore no two copies of the edition are identical to each other. AP - The artist's proofs were made from the first ceramic proofs and cut materials, which were subject to unique interventions by the artist due to the development of the process.

Bio

Artur Bordalo, born in Lisbon in 1987, is known as Bordalo II. He added the "segundo" out of respect for his grandfather, also a painter. His city is particularly affected by pollution. Its inhabitants use 460 plastic bags per year, the most in Europe.

With a background in fine arts and street art, the young artist has been putting his creative skills to work for the planet since 2013 and denouncing the poor recycling of plastic waste through his works.
