Description

Here, the words are not meant to be read — the lines are meant to be felt: a deconstructed alphabet, suspended between raw energy and visual poetry.

Created on a 1 cm thick plasterboard panel, this unconventional support lends the work an urban, raw presence, directly connected to the spirit of graffiti — giving new life to a reclaimed material.

In this piece, Bze continues his exploration of lettering as a pictorial language. The letter is no longer a sign to decipher, but a gesture to experience. Layered, erased, reinvented, it becomes rhythm, movement, and visual vibration.

The writing intensifies, fragments, and eventually transforms into abstract texture.

This work reflects Bze’s ability to free lettering from its primary function, turning it into a field of pure visual experimentation.

Bio

Bze began tagging at the age of twelve. Very early on, everything became a surface: clothing, shoes, buses, furniture, walls—anything capable of holding a trace, a sign, a name.

Alongside photography and film studies, he traveled across Europe through its underground scenes, analog camera in hand, seeking a raw aesthetic: that of the road, the street, and alternative communities and their rituals.

From 1999 onward, he shared his images in free parties and squats between Granada and Rotterdam, through exhibitions, slide projections, and textile prints.

In 2006, he published Overground, Déroutants voyageurs (Éditions Alternatives, Paris), a book assembling more than 600 photographs. A true documentary, almost sociological perspective on hippy, punk, and techno-traveler cultures, free parties, squats, protests — a world experienced from within.

His encounter with the artist Nef led to the creation of the graphic studio Nef&Bze©, dedicated to visual creation and electronic music culture.

Returning to his first language — the letter — Bze now focuses on painting on paper, canvas, and recycled materials. He develops a contemporary calligraphy that isn’t meant to be read, but felt.

His deconstructed alphabet frees lettering from its original function, turning it into matter, vibration, abstraction. Writing becomes texture: a trace of life, movement, breath.
