Description

The Grière, Jean Jullien, 2023
Jean Jullien creates a postcard vision of the summer on the French coast.

"La Grière" portrays a beach landscape dotted with bodies dressed in bikinis, beds and sandals. The fascination with observation is at the heart of Jullien's work, who uses art to create a visual commentary on everyday life. Simplicity is its philosophy and practice. Trips to the west coast of France inspire the title and content of the print, where Jullien often sketches life on the beach. In a setting where everything is shown, Jullien's traits-free figures remain anonymous.
