Description

The black panther is a nocturnal hunter. The hunt usually takes place at dawn or dusk. If it practices the masked approach, it will approach with great care a prey chosen in advance. Her walk is cautious, silent and ends low to the ground. Once the prey is close enough, it will take support on its hind legs and will throw itself on its victim at a speed of about 60 km/h.

This black panther weighs about 14 kg, it was made at the Paumelle foundry in Morsains in the Marne, France.

Bio

A virtuoso artist, Claire Crétu transmits through her sculptures emotions that overwhelm the spectator. Most of her animal sculptures are inspired by African animals. Through the magic of her creation, the artist succeeds in her sculptures in giving an impression of life and movement to animals, symbols of freedom.

Her creations envelop us with serenity and tenderness by revealing in each of us our sensitive part. In today's world, where most wild animals are on the verge of extinction, her art is a touching way to make people aware of this endangered animal beauty.

The artist based in Normandy has exhibited many times at the AnimalArt Salon in Paris and Brussels. In recent years, her works have been shown at the Deauville American Film Festival.

"No matter what one may say or try to say, the essential is beyond words. My ambition is to share an emotion, a dream, a moment... Far from the obvious, I am looking for another language." Claire Crétu
