By purchasing an artwork through our site, you are subject to a commission rate of 15% (excluding VAT) of the price agreed with the seller.
Steps to purchase
1Negociation
Interested by an artwork?- First of all, you have to create an account. Then you can start a negotiation by offering your price to the seller directly on the artwork page.
- Art Shortlist will notify the seller without revealing your identity.
- You will communicate with the seller through Art Shortlist until safely reaching an agreement on the price.
Important : The seller will have 48 hours to respond to your offer, and you will then have 24 hours to reply.
You have two options to offer a purchase price :
- you can either buy at the displayed price and the artwork is yours.
- or you can start a negotiation with the seller for a lower price.Would you like to see the artwork? We can arrange a private viewing at the seller’s home or at our showroom in Paris. Other meeting locations can also be considered.
2Payment & delivery
- Once the agreement is reached with the seller, Art Shortlist may, if you wish, send you an electronic confirmation. This step is optional but recommended.
- You will be able to sign it easily from your smartphone, tablet or computer.
- Then, Art Shortlist will ask you to pay by bank transfer.
- The funds will be held securely in a bank account until the artwork has been safely received. This arrangement protects you against risks related to the transaction and allows Art Shortlist to collect its commission, capped at 15%, in addition to the price agreed with the seller.
- The delivery of the artwork will be arranged in person or through a secure carrier, according to your preference.
