Miguel Angel Belinchón (Belin)

Born in 1979
Spain

Bio

Born in 1979 in Linares, Spain, Miguel Ángel Belinchón Bujes, known as Belin, has distinguished himself by his exceptional mastery of hyperrealism, which he has transcended with talent into the urban environment since 2001.

The artist has left his mark on urban landscapes thanks to his ability to reproduce realistic proportions with remarkable precision. His numerous frescoes, spray-painted without the use of stencils, have catapulted him into the ranks of the most promising artists to emerge from the vast universe of urban art.

Over the last fifteen years, Belin has captured human nature with proportional perfection. In his recent works, he has chosen to explore an innovative approach by accumulating angles of representation. This deliberate break with conventional realism has allowed him to concentrate on the diversity of human expression, transcending the constraints of proportion that he has mastered.

True to his style, Belin maintained the use of flat areas of vivid colour and the interplay of textures, skilfully combining these effects with his lines to infuse his creations with dynamism. While retaining certain hyper-realistic elements that have defined his visual identity, the artist gives his works a captivating singularity.

Belin describes this experiment in fusing styles as "Post Neo Cubism", a deliberate homage to the revolutionary work of Pablo Picasso, the source of his creative turning point.
