Black painting is not always synonymous with sadness or despair, Pierre Soulages is the perfect example, he is able to give life and light to black, something that was thought impossible in the past. Black is also elegance, simplicity and sobriety.
The shades of black are numerous: raven black, black currant, animal black, coal black, ink black, licorice black. Black paintings are often discreet and fit easily in a house. The clash between a bright interior and a black painting can bring some glitter into your home!
