Laksamana Ryo is an artist from Banyuwangi in East Java. He graduated from the Seni Indonesia Institute in Yogyakarta. His career as an artist started early on while he was still a student. His works are collected worldwide far beyond the borders of his native Indonesia.

Laksamana Ryo's paintings are fun and attractive, pop-influenced, and created in a style reminiscent of the cartoon world. The subject matter is not trivial, however, and Ryo touches on topics such as social criticism, social behaviour and relationships.

The maturity that emerges from his works is impressive, he is very observant of the world around him. An artist to follow closely.
