Kaws is an American artist born in 1974 in Jersey City. Immersed in the street-art scene, he plays with pop culture. 

It is in Tokyo that he develops his first art toys. The works for which he is known worldwide today are represented with the body of Mickey Mouse, and surmounted by a pirate skull and cross-eyed. These XX's have become a kind of signature of Kaws. In painting, his precise strokes and solid colours refer to the world of animation like Disney. 

The size of his sculptures varies from a few centimetres to ten metres high. They are made of various materials such as fibreglass, aluminium, wood, bronze...
