Bio

Frédéric Blaimont is a former student of the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and the School of Graphic Art in Basel (Kunstgewerbeschule - Switzerland). He lives and works in the Landes, France.

He has been distinguished by the magazine "Miroir de l'art" and by the English magazine "Aesthetica" as one of the 100 contemporary artists of the future.

Frédéric Blaimont has received the Renée Bernard 2017 Grand Prix from the Taylor Foundation, as well as the Grand Prix des Artistes méridionaux. In 2015, he was nominated for the Luxembourg Art Prize.

Jean-François Cournot :

"He paints paintings of unheard-of power that represent people, you, me, everyone, in common, banal, usual situations. But these people are not arranged, embellished, rigged. They are nature, true, absolutely true, terribly true. With their faults, their imperfections, their shortcomings, their manners . But also with the small, almost imperceptible detail that gives them a crunchy, irresistible charm. Frédéric is a capital witness of today's society, an obvious sociologist, a precious ethnologist..."
