Domenica Buono
Bio
Italian artist born in Bari, Domenica Buono lives and works in her hometown, where she has developed a generous and multifaceted practice since the 1980s, spanning painting, illustration, and visual world-building. Trained at the Art High School of Bari (architecture track), she maintains a sensitive approach to space, materials, and composition.
She creates works on canvas, cardboard, and a variety of supports, exploring multiple techniques—from fresco and oilto tempera, watercolor, and pastel—with a constant drive to tell stories, evoke emotion, and bring images to life. Her practice also extends to site-specific projects (trompe-l’œil, murals), scenography, and object-making, sometimes using recycled materials.
Long committed to social, educational, and cultural projects, she leads art workshops and collaborates with local organizations, guided by the belief that art is both an act of creation and a space for transmission and human connection.
