After studying at the Beaux-Arts de Marseille in 1960, Pierre Ducellier (1944-2007) moved to the Paris region where he worked as an architect and interior decorator. In his spare time, he painted religious scenes which were quickly abandoned at the end of the 1960s to move towards abstract painting, initially lyrical before plunging definitively into geometric abstraction.

His creative power finds its sources in the neo-plastic movement whose founding father is Piet Mondrian and the Bauhaus movement, and whose heir is Jean-Albert Gorin and all the Swiss school and Berlin artists including Günter Fruhtrunk. Pierre Ducellier has a real passion for Berlin, which inspires him in many paintings, and takes the diminutive Windorf to dissociate his artistic work from that of decorator.

But like Mondrian, he does not deny the decorative works where color and shapes are self-sufficient, occupying the space. A universe of fullness and wisdom between straight lines and traveling like a free electron in a square or rectangle.
