Pierre-Luc Poujol

Born in 1963
France

Bio

Influenced by his grandfather's farming roots and lulled by his father's spiritual environment, Pierre-Luc cultivates his artistic field with his feet on the ground but his head in the stars.

After his secondary education at the agricultural high school in Montpellier, he began brilliant studies in applied arts, from which he graduated at the top of his class (first prize in drawing, first prize in perspective, first prize in sketching).

As a painter-sculptor, he divides his time between his studios in Montpellier and Miami.

Pierre-Luc Poujol is a leading figure on the contemporary art scene thanks to his singular universe and art. He claims to belong to the currents of abstract expressionism and American lyrical abstraction.

His striking techniques of projection and dripping have earned him exhibitions in many countries, galleries and renowned museums.

Rewarded for his work and his artistic commitment, he has won many prestigious awards. He was notably awarded the international prize given by UNESCO for the bimillennium of the nativity.

Pierre-Luc also strives to establish special ties with museum institutions. His latest exhibition "Voyage à Giverny", at the Paul Valéry Museum in the spring of 2021, was an opportunity for the artist to present his work to the public and to enter the museum's collection.
